As per the requirement of Spain Consulate in Shanghai, RES visa （Non-Lucrative Residence）applicants are required to submit the supporting documents of demonstrating financial ability(bank statement, fixed deposit, real estate ownership certificate, etc.), which must be translated in Spanish and notarized by Apostille.
We would like to formally inform you that, effective from 25th January onwards, applicants can now apply as walk-ins under the Beijing jurisdiction for Spain visa without the need for prior appointments. This arrangement is applicable for the following locations: Beijing, Jinan, Wuhan, Xi'an, Chengdu, Chongqing, and Shenyang.

We would like to inform you that for airport transit visas application, nationals of the following countries require a visa to transit through the international area of any airport located in the territory of the Schengen States in order to take a connecting flight to a country outside the Schengen area.
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia and Sri Lanka.
In addition, nationals of the following countries require a visa to transit through the international area of any airport located in Spain in order to take a connecting flight to a country outside the Schengen area:
Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Cuba, Djibuti, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Haiti, India, Liberia, Mali, Republic of the Congo, Sierra Leone, Syria, Tayikistán, Togo, Turkey, Uzbekistan y Yemen. Holders of passports issued by the Palestinian Authority also require a visa.
Nationals of the States included on the foregoing lists do not require an airport transit visa if they have a Schengen visa, or another type of visa, or a residence card permitting their return, issued by a Member State of the European Union or of the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland, or by Andorra, Canada, the United States of America, Japan, or San Marino, or by any of the overseas countries and territories of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, or if they are a diplomatic passport holder, or a family member of a citizen of the EU or of the EEA, or a flight crew member of a State that is party to the International Civil Aviation Organization.
Starting from now on, there is no need to make an appointment in advance when applying for a national visa in the Shanghai Jurisdiction. You can go to the nearest center (Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou) in the Shanghai Jurisdiction based on your household registration and city of residence to submit your application. Please check the latest notice from Spain Consulate in Beijing: At present, the number of Spanish visa applications in the Beijing Jurisdiction has increased significantly, and we apologize for the extension of the visa processing time. We strongly recommend that applicants should allow themselves sufficient time to submit their visa applications in advance. In addition, we kindly ask you to avoid calling or emailing to inquire about your visa status, as we are unable to provide you with this information. Please be patient and kindly note that the processing time for Schengen Visa is about 15 days.
Here is to inform you that the students who apply for long-term study visa under Beijing Jurisdiction are requested to collect the passports by visiting Spain Visa Application Center in person. The courier service, photo service, printing service and photocopy service for long-term study visa applicants are not provided. In addition, the applicants who apply for D-visa (long-term visa) are requested to take their passports at 9:00-10:00 am on the working days in the Spain Visa Application Center in Beijing. All applicants under Beijing Jurisdiction (Beijing, Jinan, Xian, Wuhan, Shenyang, Chongqing and Chengdu) who gave biometrics in 2019 or before are requested to come to Spain Visa Application Centers to re-do biometrics (fingerprints and live photo) in person. We would like to also inform you that service fee doesn’t include photograph service (35 Yuan), photo copy (1 Yuan/page), printing service (5 Yuan/ page) and courier fee (60 Yuan).
For applicants under Guangzhou jurisdiction (namely, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Changsha, Fuzhou and Kunming), we are going to release appointments randomly. You all are kindly requested to check the appointments page for the appointments.
Kindly note that from July 31st, applicants under Beijing jurisdiction who are going to apply for study visa (more than 90 days) can submit documents in Spain Visa Application Center, Beijing. For students who have already received the appointment confirmation letter from Consulate, the appointment date is still valid but the submission place is changed into Spain Visa Application Center, Beijing. All applicants are requested to track the application on BLS website. Please do not write any email to consulate asking for visa status. Standard processing time is 15 calendar days.

Kindly note that, following the Schengen visa code article 9, the starting date of the trip must be at least 15 days after the day visa application is submitted. Applicants who are intending to depart within 15 days or if the departure date is more than six months will also not be accepted.
Please update the correct personal information including your name and passport number while making an appointment. If the personal information is not same as per passport details, you may be requested to book new appointment. Application may not be accepted at visa application center if the information on appointment letter is wrong. Thank you for your cooperation.
Passport collection is free of charge in all Spain centers.

- EU family members have the right to go directly to the Consulate/Embassy to manage their visa application.
2. For the minor applicants, the notarial kinship certificate and guardianship certificate authorized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs should be submitted whether the minor applicants travel with one of their parents or both of their parents.
